Description
The fountain below the south terrace at Cyfarthfa Castle is likely from the late 19th century. It features a circular stone basin with a roll-moulded design and is adorned with four carved cherubs that sit on Baroque bull-frog spouts. In the center, there is a circular stone stem with three putti supporting a conch-shell fountain jet. The moulded base is decorated with relief carvings of griffins, dolphins, and other motifs around the spouts.
