L-Plan Stable Ranges at Pandy Farm

The L-plan stable ranges at Pandy Farm are a grade II listed structure built from rubble, located alongside Brecon Road. The building features dressed quoins, brick detailing around the oculus, and ventilation slits, as well as loft openings in the gables. There is a pointed arched wagon entrance with a projecting brick frame that is offset to the right. The roof is modern and tiled.

The single-storey stables are situated behind the barn, enclosing the northwest and southwest sides of the farmyard. They are constructed from coursed rubble and have cambered freestone arches over the openings. The northwest range has a slate roof, while the twin southwest ranges have modern tiled roofs.

The outer sides of the southwest ranges include later cambered openings with rusticated dressings, and there is an attached two-bay coach-house that is set back. The southeast front, which adjoins the Clock Tower, features two segmental arched windows and an offset doorcase with dressed surrounds.

These stable ranges originally served as the stables, coach-house, and stores for Cyfarthfa Castle.
