Description
The railings at the driveway entrance to Cyfarthfa Castle are two impressive sections of ironwork, flanked by ironwork gate piers. The large urn finials sit atop round gate piers with hinges, and there is a cluster of smaller urn-topped uprights attached. A matching pair of ironwork gates complements the design. The spear railings extend down in seven bays to the left and right, divided by square groups of urn-finial uprights, and feature spear dog-bars. At the outer ends, the railings are connected to square, castellated stone turrets, with boundary walls extending beyond. The gates were restored in the spring of 1987.
