Description

The building is a vestry attached to Salem Chapel, constructed in 1899. It features a two-storey facade with four windows, a pebbledash ground floor, and cement render above. The tall hipped slate roof has wide eaves and tiled cresting adorned with hooked finials. The front includes round arched openings with horned small pane sash windows that have marginal glazing bars. There are paired boarded central doors with fanlights, and a brace plate to the left. The vestry, which is set back, has a similar two-window arrangement at the rear, while the vestry itself steps forward and includes three horned sash windows.

Inside, the vestry has a galleried layout with a canted ceiling that is boarded to the edge. Each corner features circular ventilators, and there is a central plaster rose. The panelled gallery front is supported by fluted cast iron columns with foliage capitals. Classical details are present in the set fawr, which has paired columns and a round arched classical 'reredos' behind, complete with painted pilasters and a keystone.
