Description

The Tramroad Bridge is an early cast-iron bridge, approximately 3 meters wide and 10.5 meters long, supported by rubble abutments. The decking consists of cast iron plates laid on four arched lattice beams. It features simple modern iron parapets, with one upright that has been reused and inscribed with 'Abernant 1811'. The deck has a ridged top, which provides grip for horses pulling loads across the bridge. The abutments curve slightly outward at the ends. The bridge has been recently restored and now serves as part of a public footpath.
