Description
Blackweir Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse featuring Gothic details. The walls are faced with brown rubble stone and have ashlar banding, topped with a slate roof and red brick chimneys. The north front has two window bays and a central doorway. On the first floor, there are two gabled dormers with decorative bargeboards and 2-light casements. The ground floor includes a transomed and mullioned window on either side of the central gabled porch, which has a bargeboard and a 4-centred doorway. To the right, there is a single-storey lean-to. The side elevation showcases the gabled end of the front block with decorative bargeboards, a 2-light casement window on the first floor, and a 3-light mullion and transom window on the ground floor. To the right in the rear wing, there is a gabled dormer with decorative bargeboards and a 2-light casement, along with a mullion and transom window on the ground floor. In the angle between the blocks, there is a single-storey porch featuring a Gothic window and a Gothic doorway to the side.
