Description

The Brewery Inn is a two-storey house with Gothick detailing, likely dating from the 18th century. It comprises two parallel ranges, each with three windows facing the village street and a similar number to the rear. The building is constructed from local sandstone in a random rubble pattern, with a slate roof featuring tile ridges. The upper windows on both the front and rear facades are quasi-dormers, each with a gabled roof. Short, single-storey wings extend from the west and east sides of the main body, also having eaves at the front. Deeply overhanging eaves and verges characterise all roofs, including the main front and rear roofs, the dormers, and the flanking wings. The front range incorporates stone end-chimneys with capping, while the rear range features two similar chimneys positioned near the centre. All windows are in a Gothick style, set within square-headed openings, and have either fixed lights or casements with 11 panes on the ground floor and 7 panes on the upper floor. The pointed window heads are straight-sided.
