Description
The Church of St Mary is a Grade II listed building constructed from rubble masonry, rebuilt on the foundations of an earlier church, with some masonry, particularly near the west end, possibly retained from the original structure. The church features a nave and chancel under a single roof, along with a small north vestry. The corners are marked by larger stones, and there is an ashlar bellcote with a single bell positioned above the gable coping at the west end. The east and west windows are round-headed with three lights and flat arches, while other windows are similar but consist of two lights. The west doorway is four-centred.
Inside, there is no distinct separation between the nave and chancel, as there is no chancel arch, and the plain plaster ceiling runs continuously from one end to the other. At the west end, a gallery with a handrail on turned balusters overlooks a small internal porch. The north vestry is accessed through a stone archway. The reveals of the east window display rough stonework, and the church features plain coloured glass throughout, along with box pews.
