Description

The mile post at the northwest end of Westgate Street is a rectangular structure featuring panels at its base. The lower panel is dated "1835," while the upper panel displays the words "Cardiff Town." Above this, there is a tall crowning tablet with a curved head, inscribed with "Cardiff District." The lower part of this tablet has two pointed-headed panels; the left one indicates "To Cowbridge 12" and the right one states "To Newport 12." Below these, a segmental panel is inscribed with "London 158," situated above the rectangular panels at the base.
