Description
The Flyhalf & Firkin is a public house dating from the 19th century, constructed in red brick with a decorative polychrome tile corner front and a slate roof. It features a corner entrance and above it, there is a head of Queen Victoria along with the inscription "The Queens Vaults." The front displays fine polychrome tiles in gold and green, a cornice, and a dark fascia that reads "Queens Vaults Wines Ind Coop & Co Ltd Entire."
On the Westgate Street side, there are two three-light windows, while the Golate side has three two-light windows and an additional doorway. The first-floor windows on Westgate Street are arranged in groups of two, two, two, three, and two. Between the floors, there is a band of diapered brickwork above a broad arch with two doorways to the left. On the Golate side, the first-floor windows are grouped as two plus one, and to the right, there is a lower block with five first-floor windows.
