Description

Monroe's is a three-storey building featuring three windows and a richly carved pale ashlar front with a slate roof. The front is enhanced by columns and pilasters that have foliage capitals, along with carved frieze bands. The top floor includes sash windows with reliefs in round heads, and the centre window is flanked by paired colonettes. The first floor has paired windows with similar round head reliefs, articulated by clustered shafts with foliage capitals. On the ground floor, there is a central shop window flanked by two doorways, with stone columns on either side of the window and pillars at the ends.
