Description
The former H.M. Customs and Excise Office is a Neo-Tudor building that stands two storeys tall. It is constructed from thinly coursed local rubble, accented with pale sandstone dressings. The building features a distinctive crenellated parapet, quoins, and a cornice band. The front façade includes four-centred arched horned 12-pane sash windows with freestone surrounds, although the left-hand window has been blocked up. A tall central porch mirrors the parapet and includes blind heraldic panels, where the coats of arms are missing. To the left side of the porch, there are narrower windows and a boarded door entrance. The end elevations each have one window with similar sash designs. The rear of the building is rendered and has blocked doorways towards the right on each floor.
