Description

Locky's Cottage, originally a workmen's hut for the workers at the Roath Basin sealocks, is a late 19th-century single-storey building. It is constructed from snecked brown stone with a rock-faced finish and features a slate roof topped with a central chimney made of coursed rock-faced stone. The southeast elevation, which faces the lock, has a doorway to the right and two windows, both with deep stone lintels and sills. The gable ends to the northeast and southwest each have a single window, also with stone lintels and sills. On the northwest side, which faces away from the lock, there are two windows similar to those on the gable ends.
