Description
Breach Farm House is a two-unit, one-and-a-half storey house dating from the 18th century, featuring a symmetrical front. The building is constructed of rendered stone with a slate roof and has end chimneys made of brick. A central doorway is sheltered by a large porch with a catslide roof. There are two gabled dormers that each contain 2-light mullion and transom windows, which are set under hoodmoulds. On the ground floor, there is a similar 3-light window to the left and a 2-light window to the right. To the left, there is an added block with one narrow window on each floor. To the right, there is a long attached agricultural range made of stone with a corrugated roof. At the rear, there is a kitchen block that extends at right angles, featuring a large brick chimney on the north gable; it has two windows, one-and-a-half storeys high, with upper windows in small dormers and a door beneath a lean-to porch. An outshut extends to the rear of the main and service blocks.
Internally, there have been some alterations, but the main beams remain intact. The stone stairway was widened when the rear kitchen was added.
