Description
21 Westgate is a two-storey building featuring two windows, constructed with smooth render and topped by a slate gabled roof that has modern brick stacks on either side. The building has renewed 16-pane sash windows that do not reach the original sill level. To the right, there is a round-arched entrance doorway with a fanlight and a ledged door. Adjacent to this is a wider round-headed arch that leads to a passageway, which is flanked by a pair of inset 19th-century iron gates. These gates feature roundels positioned between the middle rails and uprights that alternate in height above the middle and top rails, culminating in arrowhead finials above the downward curving top rails. The passageway has a stone flagged floor. On the rear elevation of the house, there are three cambered-headed sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and a semi-elliptical arch at the back of the passageway.
