Description
The National Westminster Bank is a mid-19th century building that stands two storeys tall. Its front elevation features five bays, constructed with stuccoed render and topped by a slate gabled roof, which has stuccoed flanking stacks. On the ground floor, there are four tall segmentally headed sash windows, each with 12 panes and without horns. The centre of the building has a square prostyle porch, which is adorned with a stuccoed moulded cornice. Each return of the porch has a rectangular recess, and the front doorway is square-headed, set within a rectangular recess that includes a plain overlight and double doors that are moulded and panelled in a style from the mid to later 19th century. On the first floor, there are five square-headed sash windows, also with 12 panes but with horns. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century hood above the ground floor doorway on the right elevation.
