Description

The well opposite Downcross Farm is marked by a stone surround and is set within a field wall. It features two roofless stone-lined recesses: the longer and wider western recess has a rounded north end, while the shorter eastern recess has a square north end. The coping of the adjacent stone field walls extends in front of these recesses, forming a segmental stone arch.
