Description
Corner House is a two-storey, single depth house with direct entry, built with whitewashed local limestone rubble walls and a Welsh slate gable roof featuring a stone gable stack. The first floor has two modern windows with small panes, while the ground floor has a larger window that was replaced by a recessed bow in 2003. There is a porch, likely from the 19th century, on the right side, constructed with stone walls, a hipped slate roof, and a wooden boarded floor. To the southwest, there is a two-storey addition from the 18th to early 19th century, which has a rounded corner as shown on the Tithe map, and an old slate roof. The rear elevation includes a full-width 20th-century extension with a lean-to roof that meets the main roof above the eaves, along with a large flat-topped dormer in the wing.
The interior has not been inspected during the resurvey, but it is reported to feature stopped and chamfered beams on the ground floor, with joists concealed by a plaster ceiling, a stone stair in the outshut, and a blocked earlier stair doorway. These details of the single room plan are confirmed by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales.
