Description

Rewley Court is a two-storey building constructed with local limestone that features roughly coursed and squared rubble walls, along with some dressed stone. There are signs of disturbed stonework and rebuilding on both main elevations. The roof has a fairly low pitch and is covered with modern concrete tiles, supported by stone gable stacks.

The southern or garden elevation includes window openings that likely date from the 19th century, featuring flat heads with voussoirs. The late 20th-century casement windows consist of three on the first floor and one to the right below. The middle and left-hand ground floor openings are doorways situated within a mid-20th-century flat-roofed sun lounge.

On the rear or northern elevation, there are modern metal casements, with four below and two above, although the hall window is likely in an older opening. A massive rendered plinth is present, and there is probably an original slit window for the staircase at the right-hand end.

The interior was not available for inspection during the resurvey, but it does not appear to have been altered since the listing. According to the existing list description, the east ground floor room features massive stopped and chamfered beams and joists, a blocked fireplace that remains intact behind, and an arched stone staircase doorway north of the fireplace, which also has similar stops and chamfering. There is a stone staircase at the southwest end of the house. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales confirms these features and notes that the 19th-century rebuilding affected the original plan, but only a direct entry is feasible.
