Description
70 Eastgate is a two-storey building featuring a four-bay front elevation. The ground floor is constructed of exposed stone rubble, while the first floor is finished in stucco. The roof is slate with a gable design, featuring a stone stack on the left and a pebbledash stack on the right.
On the ground floor, from the left, there is a square-headed doorway with a modern hood and a modern glazed door, followed by a modern shop window. The third opening is an original chamfered stone doorway with a late 20th-century hood, and the fourth is a large canted shop window. The first floor has four sash windows with glazing bars.
Inside, the ground floor boasts massive stopped and chamfered beams, and there is a central chimney with a southeast fireplace featuring a bressumer. A modern rear wing has been added to the building.
