Description

Woodcocks and W G Davies is a three-storey building with a four-window front elevation, featuring roughcast cladding and a slate roof. It has a brick stack on the right-hand gable end and another brick stack located between the first and second bays from the east. On the ground floor, there is an elliptical carriage archway with a keystone dated 1832, a modern shopfront with a bay window, and a second broad shopfront. The first floor has sixteen-pane sash windows, while the second floor features smaller twelve-pane sash windows.

At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with asbestos cladding on a slate gabled roof and stone rubble walls. The southeast wall includes a small square chamfered window opening on the first floor to the left, a ledged door with a lintel below, and a modern window to the right. This rear wing was probably originally a free-standing structure.

Inside, there is said to be a second room on the first floor that contains a small fireplace with a bressumer and flanking early to mid-19th century semi-circular arched recesses with reeded frames and impost roundels. The interior also features six-panelled doors and a narrow 19th-century stair. The rear wing has roof trusses with curved foot principal rafters and dove nesting boxes in the south gable.
