Description
Nos. 35, 35a, and 35b High Street is a two-storey pair of buildings, now divided into several sections. The front elevation features roughcast cladding and a continuous slate gabled roof with a red tile ridge, along with a tall stone stack on the left side. On the first floor, there are four 12-pane sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has two central pedimented doorways. From the right side, the first opening is a plain modern roughcast arch with a modern wrought-iron gate. Next is a modern shop front. The third opening is a round-arched doorway to no 35b, which has reeded pilasters, a pediment, plain reveals, a plain fanlight, and a six-panelled door with the top four panels reeded and fielded, and the bottom two reeded, complete with a knocker. The fourth opening is a round-arched doorway to no 35a, featuring a similar wooden doorcase but with a blocked fanlight that has tracery; this door is also six-panel but has the top four panels forming one glazed panel. Finally, on the left side, there is a modern shop front with a hipped roof and a central doorway.
