Description

The stable at Neath Canal Depot is a building that dates from the 19th century. It is positioned at right angles to the canal, with its southern gable end built into the bank. The structure is made of whitewashed rubble stone and features a slate roof, which includes skylights on the eastern slope.

On the lower gable end, there is a boarded loft door. The western side faces a yard and has two segmental-headed doorways, as well as a loft opening below the eaves that has been infilled with brick and includes pigeon holes. There is also a lower gabled wing at the rear, built into the bank, which has four doorways under lintels with replaced doors that face the yard on its northern side.

Additionally, on the eastern side, there is a lean-to added at the northern end, which features a boarded opening located upper left of center and a doorway lower left under a wooden lintel. The southern gable end includes a loft doorway with a wooden lintel and a replaced door that opens to the higher ground on that side.

The building has not been inspected.
