Description
The building is a wood seasoning shed and saw pit located at Neath Canal Depot. It is a long, low structure with a gabled roof made of snecked rubble, although part of the slate roof has collapsed. On the south side, facing the yard, there is a former wide full-height opening in the center that has been partly infilled with brick, and a doorway has been inserted beneath a steel lintel. The east gable end features the frame of a former window, while the west gable end has a full-height doorway. On the north side, facing the river, there is a wide former window with a segmental head in the center, directly opposite the saw pit inside the building. To the right of this window is a similar window, and to the left is a window with a wooden frame located under the wall plate.
Inside, the building retains a saw pit in the center, which is lined with coursed stone. The roof is supported by sawn softwood trusses, some of which have collapsed.
