Description
The building is a 2-storey workshop and store located at the Briton Ferry Foundry, constructed of rubble stone with a brick wall on the north side facing the yard, topped with a slate roof. The windows feature brick surrounds and iron-frame glazing. The north wall is longer than the south wall, resulting in the west gable end being at an oblique angle. The front of the building, which faces the yard on the north side, consists of 7 bays with round-headed windows. The central bay is wider and has a gablet above it. In the upper storey, there is a blocked doorway with an elliptical head, and a similar blocked doorway in the lower storey has a small doorway inserted into it. The left-hand bay also features a round-headed doorway. The upper storey bays are defined by large recessed panels. A high rubble-stone wall is attached at the right end.
The west gable end has 4 bays with round-headed windows and a large oculus beneath the apex. The shorter rear wall consists of 5 bays with round-headed windows in the lower storey and lunettes above. The east gable end is roughcast and features a coped gable with a ball-topped finial. Set back against the east gable end is a lower one-and-a-half storey office with a brick front and an advanced central gabled bay, along with wooden mullioned and transomed windows. On its right side, there is an added lean-to. The building has not been inspected.
