Description

The foundry workshop, built around the early 19th century, was originally a carpenter's workshop and blacksmith's shop serving local mines. It features slurried rubble walls and a hipped scantle slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan, set into the hillside at the entrance front, with a basement at the rear.

It is two storeys high over the basement, with a symmetrical north entrance front that has three windows and a wide central doorway. The entrance features 19th-century ledged doors, with the right-hand door divided. The first floor has original 16-pane hornless sash windows, while the ground floor has an original 16-pane fixed light on the right and a 20th-century window on the left. The west front has three windows and a wide opening to the middle of the basement, which includes a door and window, along with a small window on the right. There is also one original 12-pane sash window on the ground floor left.

Inside, the workshop retains its original floors and roof structure, and there is a fireplace in the rear wall.
