Description
The Old Post Office Building is a two-storey structure with an attic, featuring four windows and irregular stonework laid to courses. It has a steeply pitched modern slate roof with shouldered raking gable parapets. A moulded stone cornice is positioned below the eaves level and incorporates a lander with contemporary rainwater goods at the ends. The building is dated 1927 at the waterheads.
In the attic, there are four hipped dormers with slightly swept slate roofs, slated cheeks, and lead valleys. The windows consist of nine-pane horned sashes set in flush frames.
On the first floor, there are four 15-pane horned sash windows, also in flush frames, featuring regular stone voussoirs and stone sills. Ventilation blocks are located below the sills.
The ground floor has a three-bay ashlar arcade flanked by doorways. The arcade features moulded round arches with keystones, resting on a corniced impost band. The ashlar masonry plinth is complemented by small-paned windows recessed under the arches. There are doorways at the extreme left and right, with stone voussoirs and stressed keystones, leading to panelled double doors.
