Description
The former icehouse to Dyffryn House is a structure primarily built below ground. The entrance, located on the east side, features a retaining wall made of brick and squared stone, topped with a large stone lintel that has a shaped segmental arch. There is a step leading down to the entrance tunnel. To the west, the top of the circular domed brick icehouse is visible, along with a low wall and blocked entrance steps situated further west.
The eastern entrance has a step down into a tunnel that runs south before making a right-hand turn to the west. The tunnel is predominantly constructed of brick, with some squared stone, and has a shallow segmental arched roof. It concludes in a circular ice chamber that has a domed brick roof.
