Bakehouse at Gelli Farm

The bakehouse at Gelli Farm is a two-unit structure, single storey with an attic, built from rubble stone and topped with a roof made of corrugated asbestos cement sheets. A butt joint distinctly separates the earlier unit on the west side from the later unit on the east side. On the north side, facing the house, the west unit features a doorway with a chamfered lintel and drip stone, along with a boarded door. There is also an opening inserted in the upper right below the eaves. The east unit has a doorway under a lintel and drip stone, also with a boarded door. To the left of this doorway, external stone steps lead up to an attic door in the gable end, which was obscured by vegetation during inspection.

At the rear, there are inserted windows on the left and right, and a lean-to has been added in the center. The earlier west unit still contains its original oven, along with a 19th-century brick range that has been added. The loft floor has been removed, but a single coupled truss remains. The east unit was not inspected.
