Description
The Barn and Cow House at Gelli Farm is a structure aligned east-west, with the barn located on the eastern side and the cow house on the western side. It is built from rubble stone and features a roof made of corrugated plastic sheets. On the northern side, there is a doorway to the left of center leading to the wagon bay, which is topped by a wooden lintel with a drip stone and has a later stable door. This lintel was added in 1932, replacing an earlier one dated 1717. The doorway is flanked by ventilation strips, with the right side infilled.
The cow house on the right has its own doorway with a wooden lintel and drip stone, along with a loft opening above that features an inserted brick jamb. The eastern gable end, which faces uphill, includes a ventilation strip in the lower right and an inserted loft opening with a wooden lintel and brick jambs. Additionally, there is an inserted loft window on the lower gable end, also with a wooden lintel and brick jambs. At the rear of the building, there is a kennel located in a catslide-roofed outshut, which is dated 1820 and bears the initials 'TI' at the southeast angle. The southwest angle of the outshut is rounded. The building has not been inspected.
