Description
The wall and railings at Hope Independent Chapel are constructed of rock-faced rubble with painted Bathstone coping, complemented by iron rails, piers, and gates. The structure features two entrances located towards the outer ends, each marked by wide cast iron pillars that have square plinths, rounded lower sections, lozenge projections, and decorative upper sections topped with small ball finials. To the west, there is a single gate adorned with finials that have three spikes above the top bar and scrolls on the outer bars. A low horizontal bar includes dog-bars beneath and similar finials above. The paired gates at the eastern end are designed in a similar style. The railings also feature similar finials, with thicker decorated posts that have pointed finials separating the panels. The end piers are made of rock-faced stone and topped with pyramid caps.
