Description
The gates and railings at Mount Pleasant Baptist Chapel are made of Pembrokeshire grey limestone and feature a low wall with cast-iron elements. The entrance is marked by two large, tooled stone octagonal piers that sit on raised plinths. These piers have plain capitals that are chamfered on the lower course and topped with octagonal pyramid capstones. The ornate double gates designed for vehicular access include spearhead rails, twisted standards, and raised knops at the tops, mid-height, and bottoms of the standards. Below the mid-rail, there is open-work Gothic tracery, and the bottom rail is adorned with cusped vesicas. Flanking the gates are similar standards with spearheads, which are positioned over rock-faced stone coped low walls.
