Description

This is a terraced house located at 101 Main Street, built with painted roughcast and stucco dressings, topped with an asbestos slate roof. It features a red brick stack on the left end, adorned with brick dentils. The house stands three storeys tall and has three bays. The 20th-century boxed eaves may be concealing dentils similar to those found on No 99. The stucco sill bands and shouldered surrounds were redone in 1977. The upper floors have 1977 casement windows with small panes, which replaced the original sash windows. The ground floor right window has been replaced with a door leading to flats, also done in 1977, and the concrete sills are present.

The original arched centre doorway retains remnants of a doorcase similar to that on No 99, featuring an open pediment on entablature blocks supported by 20th-century corbels, although the rest of the doorcase is missing. A 1977 glazed door is present, but the fanlight above it has been blocked. To the right of the doorway is a large 20th-century shop window that is six panes wide.

Inside, there was a staircase dating from the 18th or early 19th century that connected the ground floor to the attic landing, featuring straight balusters. However, this staircase is said to have been removed. Access to the upper floors is not available, and the centre door leads into a ground floor left shop that has been altered.
