Description

Dinas Noddfa Baptist Chapel was built in 1884 and designed by George Morgan at a cost of £3,500. It is in the Italian Romanesque style and features a two-storey and attic gabled front. The building has bullnosed facings, freestone dressings, and a slate roof with a corbel table at the eaves. The front has three recessed bays with bracket cornices and a stepped seven-bay arcade. There is a traceried wheel window in an arched frame with nook shafts and foliage capitals. The side elevations have bipartite arched windows with nook shafts and capitals, and super-arches with tiny oculi on the upper level.

At the center, there are paired gabled entrance porches topped with Celtic cross finials. The porches feature stepped corbelling, nailhead and chevron decoration on the arches, and cusped oculi in the tympana, along with heavy nook shafts that have crocket capitals. Steps lead up to twin panelled doors.

The two-storey side elevations include two-light plate tracery windows on the upper level and segmental pairs on the ground floor, both with linked hoodmouldings. At the rear, there is a transverse hall range. The original forecourt walls, piers, and railings remain, along with a "VR" wall-box for letters set into the left-hand pier.
