YMCA Building including Nos. 2-4

The YMCA Building, which includes Nos. 2-4, is a four-storey structure built from red brick and Portland stone, featuring banded quoins. It has a three-window cantilevered and splayed corner with a clock on the parapet, decorated with husk enrichments. The building has balustraded parapets with frontispieces on the left and right sides, along with dated and inscribed tablets. There is a four-light cantilevered bay facing Kingsway, with vertically linked windows and enriched oculi at the centre of Page Street. The windows typically have shouldered architraves, keyblocks, and aprons, with a band running over the first floor and arched, panelled doors at the ground level. An overall cornice features volute brackets supporting the shop front pilasters on Kingsway, and the right-hand doorway has volute brackets framing a square oculus above the architrave surround. The ground floor openings on Page Street are arched, and there is a chunky doorcase leading to Llewellyn Hall. The interiors are designed in a restrained classical style.
