Description

Toll Gate Cottage is a one-and-a-half storey cottage built from painted rubble and topped with slate roofs that are half-hipped to the north and south. The west elevation features two bays with sash windows that do not have glazing bars, and the upper windows are partly located in the roof space. On the north elevation, there is a sash window without glazing bars above a fixed window. The east elevation includes a very tall rendered chimney and a single-storey lean-to addition. The elevation facing the canal has a single first floor sash window, a tall rendered chimney, and a gabled addition.
