Description
Garden Cottage at Treberfydd is a small cottage built in the cottage orne tradition. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a tiled roof with a decorative ridge. The roof has a hipped overhang at the front and left, creating a verandah supported by wooden posts. The main roof is slightly hipped to the right and includes a tall and wide central ridge stack with arches for flue exits instead of pots.
The cottage is a single storey with an attic, and its plan and elevation display a mix of symmetry and asymmetry. The verandah extends only to the front and left. The central doorway features a planked and studded door with decorative hinges and is flanked by windows—two-light to the right and three-light to the left, with the right window retaining diamond glazing. Above, there are two large roof dormers.
On the left side elevation, there is a window in the gable that has been altered, and a three-light window on the ground floor, along with a side entrance that has an added porch. The right elevation adjoins a garden yard and has been extended in the 20th century to the rear.
The front garden is enclosed by a low rubble wall with flat coping, topped with closely set iron rails featuring spear finials. It includes a central metal gate with iron gateposts that have pyramidal finials.
