Description

Brynmelyn is a long range building that includes a farmhouse with a barn to the left, and a cowhouse and stable to the right. The structure is made of colourwashed rubble stone and features a slate roof that extends continuously with the barn. The farmhouse has a small 20th-century rebuilt chimney stack at each end, with the left stack positioned on the ridge of the barn.

The farmhouse is two stories high and has a three-window arrangement with 4-pane windows. The upper windows slightly break the eaves, while the lower openings are topped with oak lintels. The left-hand windows are positioned closer to the central door than those on the right, and the first-floor window on the right is set further to the right than the window below it.

The barn on the left has full-height double doors. The lower outbuilding to the right was originally a lofted cowhouse and stable, which has a straight joint with the farmhouse. It features two loft windows (one in the center and one on the right) and three doors on the ground floor to the left, with a 20th-century window inserted to the right of the left door. All doors have stone voussoirs. The stable to the right includes a window, a door, and another window, all also with stone voussoirs.
