Description
Greenhill Villas is a pair of Georgian-style houses, with the possibility that No 2 incorporates earlier fabric. No 1 has three storeys, while No 2 has two storeys. The exterior of No 1 features part coursed rubble, and No 2 is finished in pebbledash. Both houses have slate roofs with narrow eaves and chimney stacks made of cement-rendered rubble and brick, which include weathercourses. Notably, No 2 has a proportionately large roof.
The windows are small-pane sash types, with some variation, except for the second floor of No 1. No 1 has brick lintels over the first floor and stone voussoir lintels over the ground floor, all of which are slightly cambered. No 2 features three-light sashes on the first floor and ground floor to the right, with a large 25-pane sash window to the left. Both houses have central doorcases with open pediments, although the doorcase of No 1 has been lowered. No 1 has fluted pilasters, while No 2 has reeded pilasters. Each house has six-panel doors and four-pane fanlights.
At the rear of No 1, there is a rubble end wall with sash windows and a lower lean-to range. No 2 has an uneven rubble end wall that previously had another building adjoining it, as indicated in a view from 1900.
