Description
Greenhill Villas is a pair of Georgian-style buildings, with possible earlier elements in No 2. No 1 has three storeys, while No 2 has two storeys. The materials include part coursed rubble for No 1 and pebbledash for No 2. Both buildings feature slate roofs with narrow eaves and cement-rendered rubble and brick chimney stacks that have weathercourses. No 2 has a proportionately large roof.
The windows are small-pane sash types, with the exception of the second floor of No 1. No 1 has brick lintels on the first floor and stone voussoir lintels on the ground floor, all of which are slightly cambered. No 2 has three-light sashes on the first floor and ground floor right, with a large 25-pane sash to the left. Both buildings have central open-pedimented doorcases, although the one on No 1 has been lowered. No 1 features fluted pilasters, while No 2 has reeded pilasters. They both have six-panel doors and four-pane fanlights.
At the rear of No 1, there is a rubble end wall with sash windows and a lower lean-to range. No 2 has an uneven rubble end wall that formerly adjoined another building, as shown in a view from 1900.
