Description
Menival is a tall pair of three-storey buildings with three-window classical fronts, featuring roughcast on No 1 and scribed render on No 2. No 1 has end pilaster strips, while No 2 showcases rusticated quoins. The slate roofs are hipped to the left end of No 1, with wide oversailing eaves, and bracketed eaves on No 2. There are two cement render chimney stacks. Both buildings have lugged architraves with keystones, except for the second floor of No 1. The second floor has 9-pane sash windows, while the first and ground floors feature 12-pane sashes, except for the ground floor left of No 1, which has a 20-pane fixed glazed window. The entrance to No 1 has a lugged architrave with a recessed later door, and No 2 has a dentiled and bracketed hood on incised pilasters, with a recessed 6-panel door and fanlight. There is a roughcast splayed wall at an angle with a 12-pane sash window and lugged architrave. No 1 continues around the corner into Quay Parade, extending to the depth of one window, with sash glazing on the second and first floors similar to the front, and a fixed glazed 16-pane window on the ground floor.
