Description
Rock House is a Gothic-style building from the 19th century, featuring three storeys and a three-window facade made of rock-faced rubble. The design highlights a prominent central bay and full-height pilasters at each end. The roof is slate with wide boarded eaves, and there are rubble chimney stacks at the ends, with the right stack extended in stock brick.
The building showcases Tudor stone labels above Gothic-style small pane windows. The first floor has paired casements in the outer bays and a narrow fixed window in the center. A similar window is located on the ground floor to the right. The entrance features a four-centred arch with a stone bracketed hood and a boarded door. To the left of the entrance is a broader fixed glazed window in a similar style, topped with a concrete lintel. The right side of the building is finished in cement render, and there is a lean-to extension at the modernized rear.
An unusually grand former rear entrance is preserved within the kitchen extension, which dates from around 1970. This entrance includes a doorcase with panelled pilasters and reveals. Inside, there are stone fireplaces and a cellar that contains a well.
