Description
Coity Mawr features an L-shaped building range that includes two cottages and a barn. The cottages have entrances facing west, similar to the main house, with the barn attached at a right angle to the north end. On the garden side, the east end of the barn connects to a high embattled curving wall, which links to the northeast corner of Coity Mawr house and encloses a courtyard. The structure is built of stone rubble, with the cottages painted and the barn limewashed. The cottages and the garden side of the barn have a Welsh slate roof, while the outer side of the barn has a corrugated roof.
The elevation facing the drive features the cottage on the right, which has a cambered arched front door with a gabled hood above. Adjacent to the right is a 6/6 pane casement window, with two similar windows on the first floor. The left cottage has a similar design but with a single window range. The walls of both cottages are battered. The barn, which has its gable end facing the lane, includes an inserted multipane window at loft level and features a very battered plinth. On the side, cambered headed windows have been added, including an 8/8 pane horned sash window to the right of a high cart entrance. There are possible signs of a raised height to the doorway indicated by a fragmentary former lintel, with an overlight above and vestigial ventilation slits.
Attached at right angles to the barn is a cart shed range, creating a courtyard that is part flagged and cobbled. The embattled courtyard wall features a segmental arched doorway leading to the garden. The barn has been converted for use as a workshop.
