Description

Pen-y-bryn Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No 123, is a single-span hump-backed bridge constructed of rubble sandstone. It features a segmental arch made up of thin voussoirs and keystones, with continuous parapets that are splayed at the ends and heavily covered in vegetation. The copings consist mainly of upright stones. On the eastern side, which faces downstream, there is a cast iron plaque displaying the bridge number in relief. Additionally, a low retaining wall is located at the northwest end pier of the bridge, which includes a stile.
