Description
The outside kitchen at Ty-uchaf is a lofted two-bay structure dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a corrugated metal roof. The left end chimney has been removed. The building has a central doorway and a small window on the right side with a timber lintel and altered glazing. Attached to each side of the door are low cooling benches, also built of rubble with slab tops.
Inside, the ground floor consists of two rooms. The larger room on the left includes a fireplace with a massive timber bressumer that is dated ‘I.W. 1697’. To the left of the fireplace is a curving stone chimney stair with stone treads. The room features a chamfered beam with curved stops. The loft above has a 20th-century roof structure.
