Description
The former external kitchen at Cwm Bwchel Farm is a single-storey building constructed from roughly squared, thin coursed local sandstone rubble, topped with a corrugated sheet metal roof. The structure is a single cell with a stone chimney featuring a cornice on the right gable. On the left side, there is a doorway with a stone slated canopy above it, and a small window is located to the right of the door. At the rear, there is a 5-light oak diamond mullioned window, and a window is positioned in the left gable apex. The right gable has an attached stone privy from the 19th century. The left corner of the building is connected to the rear of the stable.
Inside, the space is open to the roof, which features a principal rafter design with two tiers of trenched purlins, although most of the subsidiary timbers have been removed. Historical records by Fox and Raglan mention a fireplace, boiler, and oven at the west end, and while these features were still present during a resurvey in May 1997, further details could not be confirmed.
