Description
The Preaching Cross at the Parish Church of St. Elli is a prominent structure featuring a large square base made up of four steps with slab copings. The second and third steps are angled in the southeast corner. Atop the base is a large square ashlar socket stone with a hollow chamfer. The cross has a reset short section of red sandstone shaft, which is octagonal in shape, and is topped by a broad crucifix finial. This finial is chamfered on both the short arms and the thick moulded top.
