Description

The main entrance to the grounds of Hay Castle features 17th century rusticated gate piers that have cornices and tall ball finials, similar to those found at Gwernyfed. The entrance includes double boarded gates. On either side, there are rubble walls that curve back, topped with vertically laid coping stones. To the left, the wall extends to the step down leading to the lower rubble boundary wall.
