Description

Cenarth Bridge is a road bridge built between 1785 and 1787 over the River Teifi, designed by David Edwards. It features a rubble stone construction with three broad elliptical arches supported by short stone piers. The arch rings are slightly recessed, and the two spandrels have large circular openings that help to lighten the structure and allow floodwater to pass through. The bridge has a rubble stone parapet topped with rough slate coping. The northwest approach was widened in 1852 by R K Penson.
