Description

Frondeg is a former pair of houses and a former woollen factory, now converted into a single residence. The building is constructed of rubble stone with pitched, slated roofs and stands two storeys tall. It features a main range and a rear wing, forming a roughly "T"-shaped plan. The facade displays two symmetrical three-bay frontages, each with 12-pane timber sash windows set within projecting stucco bands, complete with slate sills and painted, cambered brick heads. Centrally located are two timber entrances, both late 20th-century doors with glazed upper panels.

The right section of the building is offset to the left and is longer than the left section. It has red brick end and ridge stacks, with the left stack rebuilt in the late 20th century and the centre stack partly rendered. A small lower right section, made of painted red brick, features a single four-pane sash window on each storey. The slated roof is adorned with terracotta ridge tiles and a red brick end stack.

The south gable end, to the left of the facade, is roughcast rendered and has a large rectangular opening on the first floor, likely a former window that is now a plain opening. The rear of the building has not been fully inspected, but it appears to extend from the central range at a right angle, using similar materials and featuring a red brick stack on the rear gable and a slated roof. This section may have originally served as a woollen factory. The left range's specific use as a woollen factory is unclear from external examination.
